On this episode I detail the new fine that was handed out by the EPA to Perfomance Diesel Inc for 1.1 million dollars and what that means for the tuning industry as a whole. The EPA has also started a task force called the National Compliance Initiative: Stopping Aftermarket Defeat Devices for Vehicles and Engines
The sole purpose of this task force is: This NCI will focus on stopping the manufacture, sale, and installation of defeat devices on vehicles and engines used on public roads as well as on nonroad vehicles and engines.
So, basically any tuning on your vehicle (gas or diesel) must be 50 state legal. It does not matter if the vehicle in question is an offroad or race vehicle. It still must remain emissions compliant. The way all of this information is worded it does not matter if your vehicle is gas or diesel. The factory tuning or 50 state (CARB) tuning must be used in the vehicle. Where this situation gets interesting is when you look at truck and tractor pulls. Most of those engines are some type of Cummins, Powerstroke, or Duramax. Even competition vehicles cannot be deleted or roll coal.
You can read the information right off the EPA’s website here:

When it comes to radiators and oil coolers, they need to be handled with care. That’s why when you ship them, the safest way to go is truck freight. Radiator are generally made with copper and aluminum. Those metals can be bent easily. When you ship a radiator or an oil cooler using a shipping company like UPS or FedEx, you’re asking for trouble. Not because UPS or FedEx doesn’t do a good job shipping, because they do. ConEquip Parts uses those companies all the time. But with such a high volume of shipments, a package such as a radiator or oil cooler isn’t going to get handled like it needs to be to prevent damage.
The best way to ship a radiator or an oil cooler to prevent damage is to pack it in a wooden box, strap it to a pallet, and send it that way. It will likely need to go by truck, which will cost more, but in the end, it will probably save you time and money.
In this installment of ConEquip 101, Ben takes a closer look at shipping radiators and oil coolers, goes over some basics, and has a little fun by using a popular Jim Carey movie clip to help get the point across.

Please help me hit 50k subscribers by christmas! There’s 3 good winter tyre videos left before the year is out!
Will a narrower 16 inch winter tyre give you better snow performance because it’s narrow, or will the larger, wider 17 and 18 inch winter tyres perform better in the snow because they have more sipes and edges?
Conversely will the smaller winter tyre struggle in the wet and dry more due to less rubber?
Only one way to find out, and that’s to go winter tyre testing!
