I drive from Albuquerque to Pueblo and back in a blizzard. I get to put snow chains on my semi for the first time in four years.

Winter tires: Stud or not to stud a winter tire? ( to be or not to be )
Do you stud your winter tire? Or do you prefer non-studded one?
There is a lot of advantage for your winter tires to be studded but the major one is more grip!! In this video, we talk with Dany from Nokian Tyres about the différence between a studded tire and a non-studded one!
The revolutionary Nokian Eco Stud 8 concept offers safety and controlled behaviour in extreme situations, and it consists of the following components:
– An eco-friendlier next-generation anchor stud
– A flange design that reduces stud impact
– A patented Eco Stud cushion that boosts the operation of the stud and further dampens road contact.
Remember that from December 15 to March 15 inclusive, all passenger vehicles registered in Québec, including taxis, must be equipped with winter tires. It’s sometimes difficult to choose the right winter tire just by looking at them! A good winter tire should offer some bite in all winter situations, long durability and have the snowflake logo! But now that we had stud to the shopping list, what will you do?
Remember also that all Nokian products are recommended by CarQuestion!! In addition, the studs are installed at the factory for maximum bite on ice and snow!
So, look at our video about STUDS!

Diesel Brothers Patriot Tires Torque MT Tire Review
20,000 Mile Tire Review
Hey guys, Justin here with The Four Lazy J’s. In this video I review my Patriot Tires Torque mud terrains. The same ones you find on that Diesel Brothers tv show on Discovery. I first purchased my Ram 2500 with the cummins back in December of 2015. Shortly after that I put the leveling kit on it and started shopping for aftermarket wheels and tires. I first looked into the Toyo Open Country tires then somehow I stumbled upon these. Being the researcher that I am, I started to gather as much information on Patriot Tires as I could (which wasn’t much truthfully.) I had heard that they were made specifically for larger and heavier trucks. So I decided that they were competitively priced which made it worth a shot. I had BFG all terrains on my old half ton and had to replace them about every 30,000 miles. That kid of set the standard for me. Now that I have 20,000 miles on the Patriots, they seem as if they could at least go another 20,000 with ease. It must be true that they are built with a much sturdier compound. I have used them in deep nasty much and sharp jagged rocks out hunting and they do what they say they would do, work and hold up. I can honestly say that I am a believer. I took a chance on these things and I would buy another set in a heart beat. There is still a lack of information on these tires and feel like if they could get that ironed out, they could be a contender in the off road tire market. I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for watching!

How to Install General Highway Service Semi Truck Tire Chains
Mike from Tire Chains R Us demonstrates how to install general highway service snow chains with cams onto a drive tire of a semi. He explains how it is important to lay your tire chains out flat to check for any twists or damaged links. He then demonstrates the proper way to position the chain on the tire, before moving the vehicle forward, and fastening the tire chain hook and tire chain fastener.
Mike also offers valuable tips such as the correct positioning of the tire chains on the tire, utilizing a chain adjuster to get necessary tension, and when and how to check your chain fitment after you’ve begun to drive.

Don’t fuss with chains in the freezing cold. Let our guide, Mike, walk you through the steps to installing tire chains on your semi.
Impatient? Skim the quick breakdown while the video plays.
– Lay chain flat, making sure there are no twists or kinks
– Hooks should always point out and cams should be on outermost side of tire
– Grab center and lay chain over the tire, adjusting so that the edge falls in the center of the sidewall
– Examine for kinks as you apply the chain
– Tuck excess chain as close to front of tire as possible. Roll vehicle forward to move chain up higher
– Side with side chain hook and link as tight as possible, ensuring the cross chains are parallel
– Lock excess links back and use cams to tighten
– Double check that the chain is still squared up
– Use cam tightener to cinch chains tight to tire. You may only need to tighten one cam, or you may have to use them all to get the chain snug. There should be no slack by the time you’re done tightening each cam
– Roll vehicle forward one last time and re-check fit. Adjust as needed
DO NOT EXCEED speeds of 30-35 mph. Chains will wear faster, and links are much more susceptible to breakage, which can damage your vehicle.
