Winter often means snow-covered and icy roads. Experienced truckers know that the lighter the load, the less traction the tires have. Even trucks hauling heavy loads can lose traction in snow and ice. One of the most important things about driving a commercial motor vehicle during adverse weather conditions is to maintain vehicle traction. Ice, snow, and high winds all work towards reducing traction as well as visibility.

Tire chains are one of the best tools to help maintain traction when the road surfaces are covered in winter precipitation. In this video we will show you how to install tire chains on your commercial vehicle. Extreme conditions are not the best time to learn how to install tire chains, so inspect them and practice installing prior to needing to actually use them!

Please remember, even though you might have great traction and the experience to drive in less-than-perfect road conditions, the other driver might not!

Choosing Top Rated Best Winter Driving Snow Tires For Mud Snow & Ice Tyers. Cooper Discoverer M/S Tires with the winter rating snowflake stamped on them is a great choice for safe winter travel. Providing excellent traction in winter diving conditions and lasting longer than most other models. In a commercial application I got 30,000 Miles of use out of mine while being loaded with almost 9,000 LBS of cargo at all times. That’s a lot of weight and pushing these tires to their maximum so the average user could most likely expect to get more mileage form a set.

Diesel Brothers Patriot Tires Torque MT Tire Review
20,000 Mile Tire Review

Hey guys, Justin here with The Four Lazy J’s. In this video I review my Patriot Tires Torque mud terrains. The same ones you find on that Diesel Brothers tv show on Discovery. I first purchased my Ram 2500 with the cummins back in December of 2015. Shortly after that I put the leveling kit on it and started shopping for aftermarket wheels and tires. I first looked into the Toyo Open Country tires then somehow I stumbled upon these. Being the researcher that I am, I started to gather as much information on Patriot Tires as I could (which wasn’t much truthfully.) I had heard that they were made specifically for larger and heavier trucks. So I decided that they were competitively priced which made it worth a shot. I had BFG all terrains on my old half ton and had to replace them about every 30,000 miles. That kid of set the standard for me. Now that I have 20,000 miles on the Patriots, they seem as if they could at least go another 20,000 with ease. It must be true that they are built with a much sturdier compound. I have used them in deep nasty much and sharp jagged rocks out hunting and they do what they say they would do, work and hold up. I can honestly say that I am a believer. I took a chance on these things and I would buy another set in a heart beat. There is still a lack of information on these tires and feel like if they could get that ironed out, they could be a contender in the off road tire market. I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for watching!
