VID 20150501 102605- A look at the gauges as I was driving on Friday, May 1st. The #2 air gauge shows it was building, sneezing, and repeating. This was less of a problem than after it stopped doing it, for sure. I’m at Little Rock International for service on it now.
California Fleet Maintenance Inc. started out in 1991, originally by Greg Buckley and Jim Harries, as Harris and Buckley Fleet Maintenance. Both men were accomplished technicians with a great reputation in the Bay Area and both craved the challenge of creating and working for their own company. As the business grew more successful, so did the administrative tasks associated with a growing company so, in 1994, the partnership evolved into a corporation and the management team underwent a makeover. Greg Buckley became the President and CEO and Mr. Harris, because of health reasons, retired. A new officer, George A. Nunes, joined the company as CFO. Mr. Nunes came to us from a fleet management background at Pacific Bell, now AT&T. Mr. Nunes started out as a technician with the fleet department at AT&T in 1979 and eventually was promoted to management, overseeing approximately 3,000 vehicles, with a staff of 30. He held that position for over 12 years and honed his skill as a top manager for AT&T fleet operations. Since the beginning, our focus has been on providing outstanding customer service and repair quality. That business model has fueled our growth through customer referrals: We often refer to our customers as �our sales force.� Our focus on customer service and quality is legendary and often, when our customers change companies, they eventually bring us on board as a fleet repair provider for that reason.
In 2011, after 20 years of leasing a property at the same location in Hayward, we purchased and began to developed 1.8-acre property not far from our original location. That effort took us 2 1/2 years of planning, permits, and building. We finally received our Occupancy Permit in June and on July 1st, 2013; we officially started conducting business at our new facility. We are excited to be in our new home and look forward to providing our clients with the same level of customer service and repair quality that has created a reputation that is unmatched in the fleet repair industry. Although our facility is new, our original staff remains with us, thus underscoring our commitment, not only to our clients but also to our employees that have remained with us throughout our history. We look forward to an exciting future and our continued commitment to the principles that have fueled out success over the many years that we have been in business.
