Tire shops may fix your tire the “right” way, only to have the repair fail miles later. Check out the old school tried and true way to fix your own flat at home, on the side of the road, at your favorite sporting event, anniversary, or wherever you want!
In this video I’ll show you how to fix a hole in your tire with a tire patch kit. As mentioned in the previous video I don’t carry a spare tire because my tires are just too big. So I have to carry the necessary tools to repair and patch a tire from the inside out. Follow along as I show you how it’s done!

An over-enthusiastic forklift driver punched a hole in the roof of a new trailer and I got to fix it. It’s a straight forward repair. I use purpose-made patching material in this video (it’s some pretty awesome stuff), but a simple aluminum sheet could be used. A plain aluminum patch would just require putting some sealant around the hole, under the patch. For holes under 3″ in diameter, I don’t even bother putting rivets in. Peel and stick is the name of the game.
This should only be used in the tread part of the tire. DISCLAIMER: Remember, the shop will not patch it this way and they will not take responsibility for this type of repair. I do not take responsibility for this type of repair either. Patching your tire in this way is at your own risk. NOTE: These patch kits are sold at almost every gas station and auto parts store. Again, use of this patch kit is at your own risk. This can be done without taking the wheel off the car. I hope you find some value in this information.
