What is the BEST Fuel to Use in Your Car or Truck and WHY

What is the BEST Fuel to Use in Your Car or Truck and WHY

Ever wonder what grade gasoline should you use in your car (what octane)? Are you paying for premium gas when you can just use regular? Are you using regular and damaging your engine? This video will bust all of the myths and tell you the FACTS on what fuel you should use and why.

Many people throw money away and fill their car with the incorrect fuel every day. Running premium or midgrade in a car designed to run regular is a waste of money and has no HP or MPG benefits. You will not make more power or get better fuel economy running premium fuel if the car manufacturer tunes the car to use regular gas in most cases. I also see some people run regular gas in cars that need premium and the knock sensors have to adjust timing significantly to prevent damaging engine knock. I also hear a lot of people say that premium gasoline has more energy or burns cooler or slower so I will put a rest to all of these “myths” with facts.

Crown Lift Trucks Field Service Manager Oscar Sotomayor on Diesel

Crown Lift Trucks Field Service Manager Oscar Sotomayor on Diesel

Oscar Sotomayor was first hired as a field service technician at Crown Lift Trucks. After being a technician for three years, he had the opportunity to move up to his current position.

Oscar says when hiring diesel technicians, Crown Lift Trucks looks for strong communication, someone who is good with their hands and someone who is willing to learn.

Many people would be surprised to learn how prevalent Crown Lift Trucks is among diverse industries, Oscar says. Crown is often working behind the scenes, whether it’s at a football stadium or servincg ShopRite and Costco.

Oscar says jobs in diesel are in high demand. Anything that was ever produced was moved by a forklift. The demand for technicians grows every day, because there are new companies being formed and other companies move to other areas.

The diesel industry is in need right now of technicians who can work on this heavy equipment, Oscar says. At Crown, there are many opportunities. Technology is growing every day, and there are jobs that haven’t been made yet that will be available in the near future.

UTI’s Diesel Technician Training program is 45 weeks and is offered at 11 locations throughout the country. Students learn how to perform repair services, diagnose problems and replace diesel parts. UTI also offers specialized advanced training on trucks and engines from brands including Cummins, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Daimler Trucks North America.

The EPA is Deleting the Delete

The EPA is Deleting the Delete

On this episode I detail the new fine that was handed out by the EPA to Perfomance Diesel Inc for 1.1 million dollars and what that means for the tuning industry as a whole. The EPA has also started a task force called the National Compliance Initiative: Stopping Aftermarket Defeat Devices for Vehicles and Engines

The sole purpose of this task force is: This NCI will focus on stopping the manufacture, sale, and installation of defeat devices on vehicles and engines used on public roads as well as on nonroad vehicles and engines.

So, basically any tuning on your vehicle (gas or diesel) must be 50 state legal. It does not matter if the vehicle in question is an offroad or race vehicle. It still must remain emissions compliant. The way all of this information is worded it does not matter if your vehicle is gas or diesel. The factory tuning or 50 state (CARB) tuning must be used in the vehicle. Where this situation gets interesting is when you look at truck and tractor pulls. Most of those engines are some type of Cummins, Powerstroke, or Duramax. Even competition vehicles cannot be deleted or roll coal.

You can read the information right off the EPA’s website here:
