In this video I demonstrate how to repair the front brake on my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. This should be the same process for the Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche and Yukon. You will need to know what brake package your truck has because the parts can be different. The process for replacing the pads and rotors is roughly the same for these vehicles.

Many of the Chevrolet Silverado’s and the GMC Sierra’s have rear drum brakes. Some trucks with the heavy duty tow package, that usually includes the VortecMax 6.0L LQ9 engine and the 4L80E or 6L80E transmission, will have rear discs brakes.

However, all Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons Escalades and Avalanches will have rear disc brakes.

Finally, we took a test drive in the parking lot to see if everything is working fine.

We find nothing major, but we did experience One Brake chamber problem and needed to be changed by a mechanic.

Unfortunately, the mechanic was a new guy and did not know what he was doing, after all that work he end up putting a new brake chamber.

Furthermore, we discovered that we had two more seals that needed to be changed.

All work was completed and the truck was ready to go over the road.

It is a very nice truck, clean and strong. Unfortunately, whenever one purchases a truck from a dealer or a person there is an always something needs to be changed.

Take a look at some of my other truck videos.
