Where did you get the step to go on the tire ?
Drivers need to use a broom and clean that truck floor ! Thatโs bad . Nice trucks and careless drivers !
๐
Learned something today, thx Justin.
Actually you're snap on d v o m is actually made by fluke, very nice meter, fluke is probably the best however Snap-on just has thier name put on it at a pretty high markup, great video
A honkin success Justin! Electrical systems exist to skunk us all. I'm using my down season time to learn more on the subject . And it ain't fun. I'm buying a tire step right NOW after watching this
How the fuck are you guys doing today ๐๐๐๐
Very cool video, thanx Justin ๐
Why they need a city horn anyway air horn is way better lol
Euh . Justin . Wouldnยดt it have been faster to connect a power probe to the horn an apply power to it ? This is my personal begin point . No disrespect .
well in my time I never had a so called city horn that worked I was trained to always go for the chain or lanyard and engage those big air trumpets for maximum safety
Seems to be the wiring and power is fine looks like the horn is the problem
That is a crap ton of resistance
You can use a scope on a rope to test the horn test lights can be your friend on a crap ton of simple things
POWER PROBE BUDDY! That's the first thing I'd do after checking the fuses. Supply power to horn. If she don't toot, no need to troubleshoot! If she does, then u start checking for power and ground, resistance, continuity etc etc. If it did toot but didn't have power going to its terminal. I'd probably guess it has a short. But obviously I'd test it to make sure it was the case. Just what I'd do if it was me…
Since the ohms resistance continued to up that means something like the horn diaphragm is stuck open. Otherwise, you would have gotten a stable resistance. I would take an air blower and blow up in the horn itself. You may be able to dislodge the trash that may be lodged in the horn. Then just hook it up to a battery and see if it blows. Oh hell just throw it away. LOL
Merry Christmas and happy Nude Year you horn circuit guru…lol…
And this is why Iโm buying a powerprobe master kit next month. I used one in school last semester and I never want to be without one when I graduate. For $250 itโs worth every penny.
Good video! Electrical problems suck
Just a FYI… thatโs a LOT more than 14 ohms. If you look on the bottom of the meter, the large โMโ means Mega-Ohms. Which means the scale is measured x 10^6 aka million ohms. So your horn was reading 14100000 ohms. The M scale (and others) makes it easier to read on the smaller screen without using so many numerical places. There is also a โkโ scale that means thousand-ohms (obviously) and a lower case โmโ which means โmilli-ohms,โ or x10^-3 ohms. Just a little tip ๐
Great video. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas.
Of course that multi meter sucks….. if you donโt know how to use it
Wait, you actually know how to repair your own trucks??? I thought you were playing owner! Lol.. I enjoy these repair vids cause you learn
Another slamming video keep up the great work I appreciate what you do and enjoy watching take care and God bless
Im on my 3rd on one of our trucks. Im a mechanic for a tow company i dont know what it is just cheap horns i guess. But no joke on the third. I just pull one off a junk car now they are all the same
The horn blows does the driver? Lol
Fuck that city horn, if itโs necessary to blow to horn on that truck, the air horn will get their strict attention for all those stupid mother fuckers out there!
how about getting a local toy MFG. over there in cinncinnatti make a Justin Sturgill action figure with a tool belt and kung fu grip and toy peterbillt dump truck in blue
Why not buy a new truck with a good horn
Good show of initial step to take before ordering parts. Sad they don't install dual note city horns on big trucks. A stripped down basic pick up truck has better horns.
Justin were did you get all your mechanical knowledge? We're you a heavy equipment mechanic at some point.
Turning into Eric O. With all that diagnostic shit! ๐
Do you know what would cause my city horn to honk all the time I just bought brand new city horn and plug in and it's hunking all the time
